Genuity and pragmatism are two defining principles that describe Lacy’s approach to life. Raised in a working-class home in Texas, she learned the values of hard work and respect for people’s dignity and everyday struggles. In college she realized the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainable urban design, and how the intersection of these systems impacts everyday decision-making. With a holistic, data-driven approach to planning, she’s contributed to a wide range of work that includes long-range capital improvement planning, comprehensive plan updates, equity transit-oriented development, zoning revisions, demographic and market trend analysis, racial equity analyses, and more. In 2019 she was hand-picked for the City Manager’s elite team to undertake the land development code revision for the City of Austin.
Lacy joined the Simplecity.Design team as a Spatial Analyst to continue using her skills to simplify the unnecessarily complex systems that burden communities across the nation.
