About Simplecity design

Simplecity Design has a deep-seated respect for how the natural environment, built environment, and the culture of a community interacts to inform the growth of cities. Our team applies a human-centered, environmentally oriented approach to build inviting places. Our mission  is to serve as a catalyst for cities  to create geographically sensitive and livable communities. At our core, we operate on common sense, creativity, connections, and compatibility as our values.

Simply stated, we function as a boutique firm offering tailored solutions to meet the needs of our clients recognizing most problems stem from poor design and lack of understanding of regulatory policies.  This methodology is unconventional in our industry because it requires team members to unpack community issues, understand their cause and effect, while seeking permanent solutions through improved design and public interaction with places.  We can achieve this level of tailored services because our staff has more than 50 years of local government experience in various positions providing innovative expertise, achieving exceptional rather than expected results.

Our collective experiences include city planning and design, city management, form-based codes, downtown revitalization, historic preservation, community development, community engagement, urban design, economic development, comprehensive plans, and transportation design.

We understand the complexities of community development, are passionate about public service, and always take a people and purpose first approach in every community we work.
