Milosav is a Fulbright Scholar and a former town architect from his hometown in Yugoslavia. He serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Architecture at UT Austin and has also held the position of chairman of the Austin Design Commission. Through his European heritage, extensive travels, and significant experience in design and construction, along with his impactful work on the Design Commission, first as a member and subsequently as chair for five years, Milosav has gained invaluable insights into various projects in urban design, suburban areas, and park settings, all influenced by different natural and economic contexts.
Recognized as one of the top urban designers in the country, Milosav has received numerous awards throughout his career. In the 1990s, he was a member of the National American Institute of Architects Committee on Urban Design and served as a Council-appointed member of the Citizens Planning Committee in Austin, where he played a key role as chair for five years. Notably, in 1987, he contributed to the design team during Andres Duany’s first urban design charrette for the town of Friday Mountain near Austin.
Milosav is licensed in both architecture and planning, and his work on projects of various scales and concerns has given him a distinctive perspective on urban solutions and the character of the physical spaces they create. The strong connection he fosters between urban design and architecture has allowed him to develop practical and poetic insights on translating master plans into functional, human-scaled environments.
